Expertly designed and crafted in the UK, the plush Bed Store Excellence 9000 Mattress features 9000 pressure-relieving pocketed springs, the mattress’ core provides great lumbar support and a great night’s sleep.
Up to 9000 cleverly engineered pocket springs work tirelessly while you sleep, targeting support to your every pressure point. With a medium firmness, these springs are perfect for side-sleepers, supporting your hips and shoulders to keep your spine nicely aligned.
Initially, the spring layers feel soft, but as you reach the stronger spring layers below, they become firm. Natural wool, cotton, silk, and cashmere fillings sandwich nested springs in the mattress. Traditional wool tufts bind the top and bottom of the mattress.
There are four flag stitched handles on double and larger sized mattresses, along with hand side stitching for edge-to-edge support.
Finished in a luxury damask fabric, with a hand tufted finish for added comfort, as well as traditional hand side stitched border to add strength and allow extra sleeping space, flag stitched handles for easy rotating and air vents to allow airflow through the mattress preventing the build up of moisture. As with all our mattresses, the Excellence 9000 is available with a range of matching bases and headboards, in a choice of fabrics.

The exceptional cushioning is bolstered by 1000 pocket core springs and a further 8000 Pocket Tablet Unit which contour to the shape of your body, helping to keep your spine in alignment and relieving the stress from any pressure points. Pocket springs offer superior support compared to their open coil counterparts. With each spring housed in its own individual fabric pocket, they’re free to move independently and respond to different weights and pressures. Not only does this make for bespoke support, but it also helps to minimise motion transfer between sleepers. The pocket tablet unit in the Excellence 9000 offers the ultimate in tailored support and relieving stress on pressure points, such as the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles.
Wool fillers with layered wool, cashmere, cotton and silk – If you find you’re not warm enough in winter or too hot in the summer, wool fillers are about to become your new best friend. Hypoallergenic and inhospitable to dust mites, they function as natural climate control, helping you retain heat in the colder months and dispersing heat when the mercury rises. In addition, wool sports superb moisture-wicking properties, moving moisture away from the body. To increase comfort levels, the Excellence 9000 Mattress contains layers of Cotton. Supremely soft and able to cushion the body’s contours, it quickly returns to its original state and gives that ‘high-end hotel’ feeling.
Over time, standard mattresses tend to dip at the edges, reducing the amount of space you have available to sleep on. Our artisans have combatted this by ensuring that the pocket springs that line the edges of the mattress are of a higher tension than those in the middle and are stitched into the side panels. This ensures that you can sleep on the entire surface without encountering those uncomfortable raised edges. To ensure the mattress retains its shape and firmness, the side panels are further reinforced with four rows of hand side-stitching, a process reserved for mattresses of this superb quality.
Viscose damask is a very soft fabric and is used for the Panels and border of this mattress. In addition, the viscose damask is moisture-resistant, making it perfect for protecting your mattress from accidental spills.
